Como Luggage Storage: Lockers, Shops and What the Station Lacks

Como San Giovanni: No Left-Luggage Office

RFI's station page for Como San Giovanni lists the ticket office, waiting areas, toilets, the railway police, a tourist info point, a bar, a newsstand, a tobacconist, vending machines, shops and Wi-Fi. It lists no deposito bagagli, the Italian name for a left-luggage office. That is the official answer for the station where trains from Milano Centrale and the Swiss lines arrive.

The nearest alternatives are private. Lock & Go's automated lockers are on Viale Felice Cavallotti near the station. Bounce lists an electronics store it places one minute from San Giovanni, open 9:30am to 8pm on its page, and a café in Borgo Vico three minutes away. Radical Storage lists a café at the station open 6:30 to 20:00 and a hotel open 9:30 to 23:00. The walking minutes are the services' own. The tourist info point in the station atrium, open daily 09:00-16:00, gives directions, and bag storage is not among the services the Comune lists for it.

Como Lago: Not Stated

Como Lago is the lakefront terminus of the Ferrovienord line from Milano Cadorna. No official Trenord or Ferrovienord page on the station's services was found, so whether it has any storage of its own is not stated here. Radical Storage lists two partner hosts named for the station, one open 10:30-18:00 and a restaurant open 11:00-24:00, and Bounce lists a spot two minutes from it.

Lake Stations Are a Different Matter

Searches for Como luggage storage also turn up Bagless, a self-service locker site. Its own website places it steps from Bellano station, further up the lake, and shows no Como city location, so it is left out of the table.

Day-Trippers From Milan

If Como is a day trip, the train ticket itself is not the problem: a Trenord digital single is valid for 6 hours from the chosen time and a ticket with Milano as its destination works across the Milan urban rail network. Checking Out Before an Evening Train

The common case is a hotel checkout at mid-morning and a train in the evening. A daily rate beats an hourly one after a few hours: two hours in a Standard locker cost $5.75 (€4.98), by our sum, and eight hours $23.00 (€19.92), while a Radical Storage host charges $4.50 (€3.90) a bag for the day. Hours matter more than price here, so check that the host is open when your train leaves.

Where the Sums Stop

Bounce prints a listing price of $4.04 (€3.50) a day but a headline price of $2.25 (€1.95), and LuggageHero prints a starting price plus a $1.85 (€1.60) service fee per bag without saying in the static page which rate applies to a full day in Como. Their totals depend on the booking screen, so no sum is given for them. Radical Storage's page also says a fixed €5 per bag, which would make its two-bag day $11.54 (€10). Check the price at checkout on every service.

The locker only makes sense for a short stop or a middle-of-the-night pick-up. For a whole day the staffed daily rates are cheaper. Set these costs against the rest of the day on Como costs.

What the Cover Figures Mean in Practice

A €500 limit covers an ordinary suitcase of clothes. It does not cover a laptop and a camera. If you are leaving valuables, carry them with you, or read the terms of the €10,000 guarantees before you rely on one, since each service sets its own conditions.

On the Boats

Navigazione Lago di Como carries one free bag per passenger, with the longest side up to 60 cm and a volume up to 40 dm3. A cabin-size suitcase fits that. No left-luggage office at the Como landing stages on Piazza Cavour is published by the operator, so a larger bag either travels under the operator's baggage rules or stays in town.

At the Cathedral's Upper Walkways

The cathedral's form for the high walkways is blunt: no backpacks or bulky bags, and no bag storage. The route climbs steep narrow spiral stairs, needs closed flat shoes and a licensed guide. If the walkways are in your plan, leave the bag first.

At Your Hotel
